This week, we're adding more pages to our Spellbook. Here's what we'll be talking about:

🔦 Highlights

🪄 Spells

One big idea we’ve learned each week, shaped into words you can carry forward.

Is 8 hours really productive?

The switching

Lately I’ve been noticing how often we switch.

You start writing something.
A message comes in.
You reply.
You come back.

Then another question.
Another tab.
Another quick task.

It feels productive.

But something feels off…

Starting over, again and again

We don’t really continue where we left off.

We restart.

You look at the screen.
You reread your work.
You try to remember the thought.

The flow is gone.

It takes time to come back.

A proposal takes longer.
A design feels unfamiliar.
A simple task stretches out.

Not all work is the same

Some tasks move fast.

Replying messages.
Checking updates.
Sending quick confirmations.

These don’t need full focus.

But some work is different.

Writing.
Solving problems.
Thinking through ideas.
Creative direction.

These need time.

They need space.

What happens when we stay

There’s a concept from Deep Work by Cal Newport.

“Work that requires thinking needs uninterrupted time.”

Because every time we switch, we leave part of our focus behind.

And it takes time to gather it again.

Stay a little longer.

Finish the thought.
Delay the reply.
Let the work settle.

Schedule time for deep work, and schedule time for comms.
Don’t mix it up.

It may feels slower at first.

But eventually, you’ll reach the flow state.
You’ll get more done in the blocks of time you’ve dedicated yourself into.

A quiet reminder

Being busy is easy.

Being focused takes effort.

We don’t necessarily need more hours.

We need better attention.
Put the conversations aside for a bit.
Leave that phone further than your reach.
Put on Do Not Disturb for an hour.
Close all tabs that isn’t related to the current work.

And sometimes, that just means staying a little longer on what matters.

Busy =/= productive.

Mr Softy is back!

On one of our lunch runs, we heard a very familiar melody in the distance…

The rumours are true — Mr Softy is back! We were way too excited to get our hands on the soft serve that basically defined our childhood.

Now… we’re just hoping they start parking somewhere a little closer to the office.

We miss you, Mr Softy!

Happy Birthday, Judin!

AICREATIVV’s resident “Unc” made another trip around the sun — another year older, wiser, and still keeping us entertained. A small celebration, but a good reminder to appreciate the people who make the office what it is.

BDCB Open House

We were invited to BDCB’s open house at the Rizqun International Ballroom, with Hafiz, Imamull, Stephanie and Iman in attendance. The night was filled with good food, familiar faces, and plenty of photos — including time spent catching up with Fadhli, Dina, Mathien and Alim. Safe to say, Dina’s jokes were a highlight of the evening (Dina, we love you).

Bogos Binted

It’s been a while since we last updated our wall, so we finally took the time to compile and print some of our favourite moments from the past year. A small but meaningful refresh — and big thanks to Hafiz and Hariisah for bringing it all to life on the wall.

Artificial Intelligence in Academia & Office: The Responsible Way Forward

As part Raf’s journey in her academia, her team organised an AI forum event called “Artificial Intelligence in Academia & Office:The Responsible Way Forward”. The event is proud to have AICREATIVV as their media partner and surprise— Imamull Qhaeer was invited to be the panellist to talk about the use of AI in creative industries! Raf’s role was the marketing aspect of the event, she applied all of her creative skills ranging from branding, designing, organising and even creating an opening video - with the help of Judin and Dhiyao (thank you media team!), without the support of others, this event wouldn’t have been successful.

Behind every seamless visual is someone shaping it frame by frame: queue in Dhiyaurrahman S. (or Dhiyao for short!) Over the past year at AICREATIVV, Dhiyao has been a key part of how our ideas come to life visually. He’s the man working across 2D, 3D and VFX to build worlds that support the story. His approach is grounded in one simple belief: 1️⃣ Start with the idea, not the tool 2️⃣ Build with intention, not just aesthetics 3️⃣ Stay adaptable when things don’t go as planned 4️⃣ Treat every challenge as part of the process, not a setback What makes Dhiyao’s work stand out isn’t just technical skill but how he translates abstract ideas into something people can see, feel and understand. Dhiyao said he learned new things from each project since different directors (or clients) have their own unique vision. From shaping animations for projects like Wadokai 2025, UsinWise and XEDC to experimenting with 3D modelling and visual storytelling, his role sits right at the intersection of creativity and execution. All of the work Dhiyao does challenges his level of problem solving! But like any strong creative process, it doesn’t happen in isolation. His work is shaped through collaboration: learning from the media team, refining ideas with creatives and building on feedback that strengthens the final output. One idea he carries closely is how growth isn’t about avoiding mistakes. It’s about building through them. Under AICREATIVV, Dhiyao has continued to evolve his craft from creating visuals to helping define how stories are experienced. If you’re curious to see how this thinking shows up in our work, explore more here: https://lnkd.in/g_FdQ-aW Or reach out to us at [email protected], we're always happy to chat ideas and bring them to life.

Recommendations

Things we’re loving lately, because inspiration hides where you least expect them.

Mangcook Dumplings

Haziyah recently hosted an open house featuring soup dumplings and pan-fried dumplings from Mangcook. Both were packed with a savoury, slightly sweet, garlicky filling, wrapped in that signature “QQ” skin. The soup dumplings came with a light chicken broth, plus their homemade chilli oil on the side — a solid crowd favourite.
