🔦 Highlights

🪄 Spells

One big idea we’ve learned each week, shaped into words you can carry forward.

Ads bring people in. Then what?

The Question

A question we get quite often from SME owners is:

"Should I focus on organic content or ads?"

The short answer is… both.

The longer answer is that both play very different roles, and most businesses accidentally make them do the same job.

That's where things start breaking down.

Organic content wins hearts

Organic content is content that grows naturally without needing paid pushes.

When people think of organic content, they usually think about posting consistently.

That's only part of it.

The best organic content doesn't feel like marketing.

It feels like a conversation.

It feels like you're being understood.

Sometimes it makes people laugh.

Sometimes it makes them feel seen.

Sometimes it makes them want to follow your journey.

The product isn't always the focus.

The people are.

Why poeple follow

Think about the creators, brands, or businesses you follow.

Most likely, you didn't follow them because they posted a promotion.

You followed because something connected.

A founder sharing their journey.

A behind-the-scenes moment.

A mistake.

A lesson.

A win.

A loss.

A story.

The audience starts feeling like they're part of something.

And when people feel connected, they keep coming back.

Ads win attention

Ads work differently. Their job isn't to build a relationship. Their job is to create action.

Book a slot.

Visit a page.

Add to cart.

Send a message.

Make an enquiry.

Ads are often the first interaction a customer has with your business.

You only have a few seconds.

So the message needs to be clear.

The audience needs to be correct.

And the next step needs to be obvious.

The mistake

Many businesses make organic content look like ads.

Every post becomes a promotion.

Every caption becomes a sales pitch.

People get tired.

Others make the opposite mistake.

They build beautiful organic content.

Great stories.

Great engagement.

But nobody new discovers them because there's no paid ads.

One side has attention with no relationship.

The other has relationship with no attention.

Organic content without ads = no one views your content

Ads without organic content = no content to view

Quick tip

Offensive and defensive marketing

One way we explain it is this:

Ads are offensive.

Organic content is defensive.

Ads go out and find people.

Organic content gives them a reason to stay.

Ads bring them through the door.

Organic content answers the question:

"Should I trust these people?"

The key

Organic content without ads is difficult because nobody sees it.

Ads without organic content are difficult because people arrive and find nothing meaningful.

The strongest marketing systems use both.

One creates attention.

The other creates connection.

And in today's world, connection is usually what people remember.

The REAL question

A of of businesses ask whether they should choose ads or content.

The real question:

What happens after someone clicks?

Congratulations, Raf!!

One year ago, Raf Zaini begun Master in Management journey and to her it felt like stepping into unfamiliar territory especially her coming from a different background. Her journey definitely wasn't all sunshine and smooth sailing. There were late nights, back-to-back deadlines, countless assignments, and more than a few moments of wondering, "Why did I sign up for this again?" But somehow, everything worked out in the end. Now, the hard work has paid off, the final submission is in, and another milestone is checked off the list. Next stop: the graduation convocation in August... hopefully!

Friday Gathering

We’ve been missing everyone lately, so we brought back another fun Friday gathering — and of course, we sent the boys (Alfath, DB, Alimin & Syed) on a food run (brave of us, honestly). They came back with treats from Sumbangsih Mulia and Faizee Rimba, so safe to say, no complaints there. As usual, we took time to share what we’re grateful for — along with a very important announcement (IYKYK). It was also nice seeing some familiar faces again, including our OG intern Acap (who generously brought cake), our first batch of IBTE interns Zaid, Muna (with fruits!), Liza, and of course, Dhiyau & Fai. Just one of those days that reminded us how nice it is to have everyone back together 🤍

Raf Aaqilull Amal Imamull away

Amal, Imamull, Aaqilull & Raf will be away for a week, spending their well deserved holiday in Indonesia! While Amal, Imamull & Aaqilull are enjoying their family holiday, Raf will be on her feet to shop for her upcoming wedding.

Enjoy Indonesia, guys! The office is in good hands!

Cookin’ with Media

As usual, the media team is always up to something… this time, cooking up an exciting photoshoot (and Selene’s very first involvement in a client project). We’re also putting DB’s drone to good use, so you already know it’s about to look chef’s kiss. We can’t wait to serve you the final dish (wink)

Last week, our office got a little busier than usual. We had the pleasure of welcoming close to 50 students from Cosmopolitan College of Commerce & Technology (CCCT) to AICREATIVV for a glimpse into life inside a creative agency. Rather than having everyone sit through a presentation, we wanted the experience to feel a little closer to reality. So, the team transformed the office into five different stations, each representing a different part of what we do every day — from strategy and business development to design, marketing, media production, and 3D animation/rendering. Students had the opportunity to rotate between stations, speak directly with team members, and see how the different disciplines come together behind a project. The morning session was spent with Miss Hannan Nabilah Halidi and the Level 5 HND Graphic Design students, while the afternoon welcomed Sir Shahrill Ramadhan, Sir Syafiq Fadwa, and the Level 3 Creative Media students. One thing we always enjoy about visits like these is the questions. Whether it was about career pathways, client work, creative challenges, or agency life itself, it was encouraging to see students curious about what happens beyond the classroom. For many of us, opportunities to step into studios, agencies, and workplaces helped shape our own journeys. Being able to open our doors and do the same for the next generation is something we're always grateful for. Thank you to the lecturers and students of CCCT for spending the day with us. We hope the visit offered a useful look into the creative industry — and perhaps inspired a few future agency folks along the way.

Europe Acrobatic Circus 2026

Last Monday, Raf and Judin decided to visit the Europe Acrobatic Circus 2026 at Padang Kawad Stadium, not expecting the experience to last for a full two hours. With performers from different parts of the world, every act brought something unique to the stage and kept the audience entertained from beginning to end. While Raf enjoyed the variety of performances, Judin’s favourite was the Wheel of Destiny segment, which had his knees tingling as he watched the daring stunts unfold.

The Europe Acrobatic Circus 2026 is still running until 14 June 2026, so there’s still time to catch the show.

Majidah recommends Rare Beauty’s Fragrance Layering Balm in Amber Vanilla — a soft, clean, and comforting vanilla scent that isn’t overly sweet or overpowering, with a balm texture that makes it easy to apply while helping your perfume last longer, and it pairs effortlessly with almost any fragrance for layering.
