This week, we're adding more pages to our Spellbook. Here's what we'll be talking about:

One big idea we’ve learned each week, shaped into words you can carry forward.

Before every quarterly or monthly team meeting, I draft my notes everywhere. The Freeform app on the iPad, the notebook, the notes app, on a Google doc, maybe on Keynote’s speaker notes section.

I scroll through photos and see what we’ve been up to, scroll through meeting notes and sheets of outcomes to see which parts of the business or process we need to improve.

There’s something I’ve noticed as a pattern for the past three quarters. So I’m breaking it down to three parts, titled “Nobody”. Here are my thoughts:

There are people in our team doing things today that would've made them nervous a year ago.

Someone who used to wait for confirmation now makes the call themselves.

Someone who barely spoke during meetings now jumps into the conversation before anyone asks.

Someone who once needed a senior beside them is now the person juniors look for when they get stuck.

And the funny thing is...

Nobody clapped.

There was no announcement.

Nobody stopped the meeting and said,

"Guys, look. They're confident now."

Work simply continued.

The client got their answer. The project moved forward. Everyone went back to whatever they were doing.

Somehow, something that used to feel difficult had become normal.

Growth is easier to see when there's something obvious to measure.

Your first project. Your first time leading. Your first big client.

A promotion.

An award.

A new title.

Those moments give us something to point at and say,

"Look how far you've come."

But I believe, or rather, I’m realizing, that most growth happens somewhere in between them.

It's the fifth meeting where you finally stop rehearsing what you're going to say.

It's catching a mistake before someone else catches it.

It's handling a difficult conversation a little better than the last one.

It's opening a blank document and knowing where to begin.

Nobody takes a photo of those moments.

Sometimes even you don't notice them.

I think this is one of the strange things about getting better at something.

Eventually, the thing you worked so hard to learn becomes the thing everyone expects you to know.

At first, someone celebrates when you do it well.

Then you do it again.

And again.

Eventually, nobody reacts.

It simply becomes you. And I've seen this happen across our team.

People who once needed step-by-step guidance are now leading projects from beginning to end.

People whose work we used to review closely are now the ones reviewing someone else's.

People who came into AICREATIVV to learn are slowly becoming the people others are learning from.

It happened gradually enough that we almost missed it.

When you're inside your own progress, there's rarely a dramatic before-and-after.

You wake up as roughly the same person you were yesterday.

Then you do it again tomorrow.

A little more comfortable. A little faster. A little clearer. A little less scared.

After enough ordinary days, something that once required courage becomes Tuesday.

Maybe that's why we sometimes feel like we're standing still.

We're looking for proof in big moments while our growth has been hiding inside the small ones.

And maybe nobody needed to.

There is something beautiful about reaching the point where something you once struggled with becomes so natural that nobody notices anymore.

The nervous presentation becomes another presentation.

The intimidating client becomes another conversation.

The responsibility you weren't sure you could carry becomes part of your week.

Nobody claps.

The room moves on. And perhaps that's the evidence.

What feels normal to you today that would've scared you a year ago?

What do people trust you with now that they didn't trust you with before?

What have you become so used to doing that you've forgotten how difficult it once felt?

And maybe, before chasing the next version of yourself...

look around for a moment.

You might already be standing inside something your younger self would've celebrated.

Snapshots from our week — the work, the people, and the little victories worth sharing.

Hisham and Syafiq headed down to Kuala Belait on Tuesday morning to cover BFI’s Maulud Nabi SAW Birthday Procession. The crowd was amazing, and it was great to see so many people coming together for the celebration. Imamull and his family also made their way down to join in!

It’s a little quiet in the office this week! Stephanie, Amal and Haziyah are all on leave, while Iman is working from home, leaving Majidah holding down the creative team in the office.

Meanwhile, the ladies are off enjoying their holidays in South Korea, Thailand and Malaysia! Hope they’re having the best time!

Since last week, the media team has been non-stop going out for shoots!

Raf, Judin and Al-Fath headed to UNN Telisai for a video shoot. On Monday, Syafiq and Hisham were on-site for the Serikandi photoshoot. Other than that, we also had our SugarSweet video shoot, while Hisham and Aaqilull covered BFI’s Badminton Tournament at LLRC.

And to wrap things up, we’re finally finishing up the Frosthaus shoot!

Sir Shakir and Sir Fizul from Cosmopolitan College Brunei recently came by our office to check in on our intern, Selene, who’s officially 3 months into her journey with us! During the meeting, Selene shared her progress and experience so far.

We also highlighted how she’s been involved in both small and big client projects. She shared that she felt a little overwhelmed at first, but she pulled through and has grown so much along the way!

Things we’re loving lately, because inspiration hides where you least expect them.

Recently, Raf and her friends did their graduation photoshoot at Fuku Studio! It’s a self-portrait studio where you get a remote and simply pose away. They have different backdrops to choose from, and the private space makes it easy to have fun and try different poses with your friends!
