This week, we're adding more pages to our Spellbook. Here's what we'll be talking about:
🔦 Highlights
🪄 Spells
One big idea we’ve learned each week, shaped into words you can carry forward.
We broke our own website
Why would you do that!!
For almost the entire life of AICREATIVV, our website was built in-house using Wix Editor.
And honestly, it worked.
Every few months we'd change something, add another project, move a section around, update some information, then leave it alone until the next round.
Then Wix Studio came out.
We got excited.
Better layouts. Better interactions. More control.
Then we found out we couldn't simply migrate everything over.
We'd have to rebuild it.
From scratch.
Rebuilding it isn’t the only scary part
There was something else stopping us.
Search “Creative Agency Brunei” and AICREATIVV had been sitting right at the top.
That's something we've worked on for years, especially through Haziyah, our Marketing Lead, consistently writing blogs and improving how searchable the website is.
Moving everything meant URLs could change, pages would be rebuilt, and suddenly we were touching something that was already working quite well for us.
So for a while, we didn't.
Then eventually we thought...
Okay lah.
Let's do it.
And that's when the nightmare started.
Pages didn't work. The platform worked differently. The UI and UX of the editor itself had changed, so while rebuilding our own website, we were also learning how to use the thing we were rebuilding it on.
And because apparently we enjoy suffering, we gave ourselves roughly a week.
But rebuilding everything forced us to actually look at everything.
And we found a lot.
The old website had been growing with us
That was probably the biggest realisation.
Years of small updates had slowly created little problems we stopped noticing.
Our Work section had grown so much that people had to scroll through project after project to find something relevant. Now we can filter by category, industry and project type, so if you're looking for something similar to your own business, you can get there much faster.
We also realised we had been thinking too narrowly about SEO.
“Creative Agency Brunei” matters to us, but not everyone searches that way. Some people are looking for SME marketing, others might search for video production, and some describe agencies using completely different words.
So we went back through our notes, looked at the language people actually use around us, and started building around more of those terms.
Even the boring backend got a proper cleanup.
Previously, adding one project could mean updating it in several different places. Now one central database can feed the same project into multiple pages automatically.
That sounds terribly unexciting until you're the person updating three databases at 6PM.
Then there were the forms.
We found out we'd missed enquiries before.
Potential projects.
ARGH.
Those now notify us directly.
And perhaps my favourite discovery: some of our testimonials used to be uploaded as images.
Which meant search engines couldn't properly read all those lovely things people had said about us.
They're actual text now.
It’s a huge difference.
Pretty isn't enough anymore
Of course, we also had fun.
Wix Studio gave us much more freedom with movement, interactions and how the whole website feels.
But rebuilding it reminded us that a website can look beautiful and still make life unnecessarily difficult for the person using it.
So this time, every little interaction had to earn its place.
Can people find things faster?
Can they understand what we do?
Can we update things without creating more work for ourselves?
Can someone actually contact us without their enquiry disappearing into the void?
We're still improving it, and probably always will be.
But everything we learned rebuilding our own website now comes with us into the websites we build for other people too.
The latest one we're especially proud of is usinwise.com, and a huge thank you goes to the BDCB and TAP teams for the endless support throughout that project.
Turns out rebuilding from scratch was a nightmare.
But sometimes starting again lets you see all the things you've gotten used to working around.
And those are usually the things worth fixing first.
Website, anyone?
Oh we’re confident now. This used to be a side offer. Now we have 3 website clients lined up.
If you’re ever interested, let’s talk!
Fun fact: most of our leads come from our website, because they would first search on google, or google AI. Any place they search, we would pop up.
That’s actually how SONY found us too. Ref: Sony visits us

Website Revamp!
Imamull Qhaeer led a major revamp of our website, rebuilding it from the ground up to improve navigation, make projects easier to browse and create a smoother overall experience for both visitors and the team managing it. The rebuild also gave us a chance to clean up the backend, improve our SEO and make enquiries easier to track.
Check it out!
What are the media team up to this time?
You guessed it… it’s another busy week for the media team. At this point, it almost feels like we barely see them in the office, but that probably just means there’s more to look forward to from behind the camera! 👀
This week had a little bit of everything, from a shoot with Dear Beauty by Viv with Selene, Raf and Sapek out on set, to some very late nights for Raf, Aaqilull and DB, who were on a fast turnaround to edit BDCB projects ahead of their launch video.
From fine dining to outdoor hiking shoots to late night editing sessions…
To our media team, please remember to rest too!

Food Run (in the rain)
Last Friday, the team braved the heavy rain to pick up some treats for the office. We made our usual stop at our favourite nasi katok spot before heading over to Faizee Rimba for the usual sweet treat run.
Nothing too bizarre this time around, just a very wet food run followed by a very satisfying spread back at the office. Thanks to the food team for keeping us fed!
