The Idea

We often think something is right if we see others doing it. Whether it's what to do with an empty popcorn box at the movies, how fast to drive, or how to eat at a dinner party, we look to those around us for cues.

Following what others do usually works well. We make fewer mistakes by copying others. If many people are doing something, it's probably the right thing to do.

Use social proof by showing how others use your brand. Typically, it’s approached by sharing reviews and positive comments on your social media. When people see others engaging with your content or praising your products, they are more likely to do the same.

The Next Level

Here are more creative ways to use the power of social proof:

User Generated Content (UGC) - If you’ve experienced a product launch and seemingly fell into the trap of being obsessed with the idea of owning that product, you might have been a target audience for that specific product’s campaign.

For example, the PS5. You’ve probably came across these videos:

  • Group A Creators - PS5 Best Features and Aesthetics

  • Group B Creators - Top 10 [Insert Genre] Coming out for the PS5

  • Group C Creators - [Insert Game] Full 4k 120FPS Walkthrough on PS5

  • Group D Creators - PS5 vs [Insert Competitor Console]

  • Group E Creators - Cozy Gaming Time 4 hours with the PS5

  • Group F Creators - Buying the PS5 for my [insert loved one]

All of this makes it almost irresistible to get one. And you see this everywhere - TikTok, YouTube, IG.

Now, take a step back and break it down. Do you see how the creators each take an angle of the product and pursue it as content?

As a business, you can approach these creators and collaborate to make a holistic campaign about YOUR product.

Get it? Social Proof.

📌 Less Work, More Impact

How do creators consistently create content around their niche/topic without running out of ideas? They seem to have everything in place!

Let’s break that down.

Creators call this Repurposing.

Repurposing content is a powerful way to maximize your impact without increasing your workload. Instead of creating new content from scratch, reuse and adapt what you already have. This saves time and effort while reaching a broader audience.

General Idea

  • Social Media Posts: Turn a blog post into a series of social media updates like carousels, stories or single posts. Break down the long form content into shorter ones, rephrase them, whatever you need to do to make it more succinct and impactful.

  • Podcast Episodes: Convert a webinar into a podcast. Or convert podcasts into shorts on YouTube or Reels.

  • Infographics: Use key points from your article to create an infographic, perhaps on carousels or single posts. Rephrase them into tips that can be broken down into multiple parts on carousel.

  • Reels: The carousels you made could be converted into a script with a proper format, and then be recorded as a short reel of you talking, with some b-rolls.

Where can you start?

  • Plan Ahead: Create content with repurposing in mind.

  • Focus on Quality Content: Focus on quality to ensure it can be reused effectively. i.e When you record a reel, make sure you can also grab the audio for a short voice note to be repurposed as a voiceover to a broll video.

  • Consistent Value: Regularly update and adapt your content to keep it relevant. When you have a singular topic, you can approach it at so many different angles. This gives you space to talk about the same thing differently, and it gives your page credibility by showing how much you know about one single thing.

  • Multi-Platform Use: Make sure your content can be shared across different platforms. Reels and Tiktoks are the same format. Carousels and can be converted into pdf for a carousel on Linkedin.

By repurposing content, you work smarter, not harder, while keeping your audience engaged and informed.

Farewell, IBTE interns

Last week, our IBTE interns—Aiman, Zaid, Limin, Liza, and Muna—gave their final speech. After 6 months of digital marketing lessons with Imamull at IBTE and another 6 months interning at AICREATIVV in various roles, their Industry Attachment semester has come to an end.

We shared countless memories, lunch outings, inside jokes, and faced ups and downs together. As we bid them farewell, we laughed, we cried, and one thing is certain: we’ll always cherish the memories we made. Soar higher, guys!

Limin and Ziizi will represent Brunei for FLY

Limin and Ziizi have been selected to represent Brunei at the ASEAN-ROK Film Leaders Incubator: FLY. This short-filmmaking workshop brings together aspiring filmmakers from the 10 Southeast Asian countries and South Korea to collaborate and learn.

We love seeing our team chase their dreams and succeed. This is one of those proud moments. We'll be cheering them on from afar when they head to Laos in November! All the best!

Clickup

I’ve been trying out Clickup for two weeks, and at first, it felt a bit overwhelming. However, as I got used to it, I discovered that the dashboard, lists, and folders make it easy to organize tasks and add subtasks. This has really helped me visualize my workflow.

The best part is the Lineup feature, which lets you prioritize tasks from different folders in order. It's a game-changer for keeping everything organized and on track.

Sleepy Time

Sleepyti.me - I recently discovered a handy webapp that helps you fix your sleep schedule. Just enter the time you want to wake up, and it tells you the best times to go to sleep. Or, if you know your bedtime, it will suggest the best time to wake up. It takes the guesses out of planning your sleep, helping you feel more energized and ready to take on the day.
