📌 For Creatives: Putting Your Name Out There

Get Noticed by Showing Your Work

If you're a creative struggling to prove the value of your work, it might be because you're not showing it. Don't let your talent be the world's best-kept secret. Consistently sharing your progress and creative process is key to getting hired as a freelancer or by an agency. Many creatives only showcase the finished product, making it harder to post regularly. But there are easier ways to create content that lets you work less and share more!

Content Ideas to boost your output

Creating content doesn't have to be overwhelming. Here are simple ideas that help you share more while working less:

  • Post videos of your work in progress with simple cuts and music.

  • Show before-and-after comparisons of the final artwork and the initial sketch.

  • Share tips you've learned during the process to build credibility.

  • Post timelapses or a series of posts highlighting different stages of your process.

  • Share your favorite color palettes for the artwork.

  • Reveal the places and sources that inspire your work.

  • Share ideas that didn't make the final cut but could be useful to others.

This approach makes content creation less taxing because you're simply sharing what you're already doing—the inspiration, the process, and the final artwork!

📌 Become a Thought Leader

Why Credibility Matters

Thought leadership and credibility are crucial for creators who want to influence, guide, or inspire their audience. This principle applies not only to content creators but also to service-based and even product-based companies.

Many creators believe it's better to be known for a wide range of things, but the real power lies in being known for just one. By niching down, you can explore angles and perspectives others haven't, building deep credibility.

Much like the progression from HND to a PhD, the further you go, the more specialized you become.

Steps To Becoming a Thought Leader

After going through a number of creators with an engaging audience on Instagram (100k+ followers), there’s two things that are overlapping. Building credibility in a niche requires focus and consistency.

Here’s how you can start:

  • Find a Niche: Identify a specific topic or area that interests you. It has to be authentic or related to yourself - or at least what you want to portray online.

  • Spot problems. Look for common questions or issues people have about this topic.

  • Provide answers or solutions to these problems.

  • Spice it up with your perspective. Share your unique ideas and insights on the topic.

  • Regularly connect your knowledge, experiences, and stories to your niche. You’ve got to be consistent with this one.

  • Never. Stop. Learning. Research and find alternative solutions to existing problems. Research doesn’t have to mean you going through academic papers. It can simply be talking to people, talking to your audience, reading books, watching YouTube videos, anything that can add your knowledge to your niche.

Take it a step further by identifying problems that are overlooked or unthought of, and come up with answers (or thoughts) on those. One idea can be presented in many ways - reels, carousels, posts, stories. And each of those features could have a different way of presenting. Here’s where you can be creative!

The payoff? You gain credibility in your niche, and when people think of that topic, they’ll think of you.

Second round of Being an Adjunct Lecturer

Hi everyone! It's Imamull. I’m excited (and a little nervous) to share that I’ve been called back for the second round as an adjunct lecturer for Digital Marketing at IBTE. This time, I'll be teaching over 100 students in their 3rd semester of HNTec, all the way through January next year. Last year, I had the privilege of teaching the same number of students, and this year, I’m aiming to do even better—not just in teaching digital marketing, but also in helping students navigate life.

One key lesson I want to share with them is the power of interdependence. It's about recognizing their own strengths, collaborating with others who have different strengths, and forming a solid team. Our age gap isn’t that big, so I’ve made it a rule—no calling me ‘sir.’ Just. Imamull.

I’m pumped about preparing these students for their industry attachments, and making sure they’re ready to face the challenges ahead. Oh, and by the way, I’ll only be teaching on Thursday mornings and Tuesday AM & PM, so I’ll still be around for meetings and projects. Looking forward to this exciting journey!

Farewell, Najang

t’s time to say goodbye to Najang as she heads off to pursue academia, and we’re all behind her. Her absence is definitely going to leave a big gap in our team. Najang was one of the first to join us when we expanded beyond just Amal and Imamull. Her farewell was filled with heartfelt speeches, tears, and a lot of inside jokes—it took up half a day!

Najang has made a deep and positive impact on all of us, and we’re going to miss her witty, sometimes quiet, and always slightly quirky self. She even left us with crocheted little characters to remember her by—like the moose she made for Aaqilull, because moose are from Canada, and they always say sorry, just like Aaqil.

We’ll miss you, Najang, but you’ll always be part of our story.

Abi is a great creator to follow, specifically for designers or freelancers. She shares a lot of content that revolves around ideas, tips, downtimes, projects, BTS, etc. She’s a great example of a Thought Leader mentioned above!
