🔦 Highlights
🪄 Spells
One big idea we’ve learned each week, shaped into words you can carry forward.
A Painful Pattern
Emotion Always Speaks Before Logic
As a leader, I am meant to solve problems.
In business.
In wellbeing.
In people.
I am also meant to spot problems early.
In a team of around 20 people, closeness is natural.
We spend eight hours a day together.
Sometimes more, when we choose to hang out after work.
So when I started hearing stories about burnout, tension, and small frustrations, something felt strange.
None of it came to me directly.
When silence starts to feel loud
I make myself available.
I make myself approachable.
At least, I thought I did.
So a question kept showing up in my head.
Why are people not coming to me with these things?
If they did, I would listen.
I would think.
I would find a solution.
Why let it stretch?
Why carry it alone?
Why let it grow?
That felt counterintuitive to me.
“Everything is okay.”
When I checked in, I heard the same answer.
Everything is okay.
Nothing is wrong.
Things are going great.
I took it literally.
I believed it.
But the stories I heard indirectly did not match what I was told directly.
Something did not add up.
That was when I stopped asking what was wrong with the team.
And started asking what I might be missing.
The pattern I finally saw
This was not the first time.
Different people.
Different situations.
Same outcome.
Things stayed unspoken.
Concerns stayed soft.
Frustrations stayed hidden.
And then it clicked.
I am very quick to solve.
Too quick.
While someone is explaining, my mind is already working on answers.
On fixes.
On next steps.
I thought I was listening.
But I was already building solutions.
There was a wall I never realised I had built.
Emotion does not want solution first
Robert Greene writes about how emotion always comes before logic.
We feel first.
We explain later.
People do not always want answers.
Sometimes they want space.
To be heard.
To feel understood before being fixed.
I had zero time to listen, even when I thought I did.
And that changes everything.
A quiet shift in leadership
This realisation was uncomfortable.
But I am glad I had it.
Because leadership is not just about solving problems.
It is about creating room for people to speak before they are ready for solutions.
If emotion arrives first,
then listening has to arrive before logic.
That is what I am learning now.
Spellbook #36: What I want to remember
1. Silence is not agreement
Sometimes it is hesitation.
2. Being approachable is not enough
People need to feel safe to speak without being fixed.
3. Solutions can wait
Listening cannot.
4. Emotion shows up before logic
If I miss the emotion, I miss the truth.
5. Leadership starts with presence
Not answers.
6. Awareness changes patterns
Even the ones we never meant to create.
I am still learning this.
And I am glad I noticed it when I did.

32nd Consumer Fair
It’s an AICREATIVV tradition to come down to every Consumer Fair, and this time Haziyah, Hafiz, Elroy, Batrisyia, Hariisah, Iman, Yasmin, Syed, and Stephanie made the trip. What began as light work coverage quickly turned into a full experience—oysters from Washoku eaten right in the middle of ICC, Batrisyia picking up a new bag from Thai brand curá, and Haziyah getting her name written in Chinese calligraphy. We also ran into the brand ambassador from Chatea (where Batrisyia spun the wheel and scored a buy-1-free-1 voucher), dropped by our client STAC to try their limited-edition cookie, and wrapped it all up enjoying Relentless’ performance. Work, but make it fun.

BFI Day 1 Filming
The media team kicked off Day 1 of filming for one of the BFI projects bright and early, arriving at the location as early as 6.30 AM. It began with the bus scene, which set the pace for an energetic start to the day. Then the crew moved on to the SPARK building to film the office scenes. Fun fact, this is Alfath’s debut as a director as a member of AICREATIVV!
Thanks to the well-coordinated teamwork, the crew managed to complete the day’s shoot ahead of the estimated wrap time. With momentum on their side, the team is set to continue filming next week to capture the remaining scenes.

Move with Moom
Raf Zaini and Syafi ‘Aizzuddeen participated in the recent event hosted by Kinship at Waterfront Bandar last Sunday, a casual social gathering to promote Moom Health products. The event began with an opening speech by Kinship founder, Aqilah Hamir, followed by warmups before participants were divided into a 2km walk or 3km jog. There were plenty of Moom Health testers for everyone to try, and Raf and Judin managed to stock up on their supplements with a 20% discount! The event ended with some social time and a complimentary mini açai bowl and drinks from AM/PM Caffeine (mixed with Moom products) — a refreshing way to wrap up the day.

Raf and Judin got a free hat from Moom!

LinkedIn Assignment
As part of an effort to show appreciation for one another and to keep our LinkedIn profiles active, our LinkedIn Ambassador, Elroy Ramantan, challenged the team to spotlight one colleague each.

✨ Recommendations
Things we’re loving lately, because inspiration hides where you least expect them.
Sections — Pickled Chilli Cheese Burger
We recently had a team lunch at Sections (formerly Tasconi’s—loving the rebrand, by the way), and one standout order was the Pickled Chilli Beef Burger. A juicy, flavour-packed patty stacked between XL brioche buns, topped with their signature pickled chillies and Sections’ special sauce. Safe to say… this was everythingburger for us.
