🔦 Highlights
🪄 Spells
One big idea we’ve learned each week, shaped into words you can carry forward.
Work got better when we added more to the calendar
So much purple
Over the past few weeks, the calendar has been more colourful.
We have colors for meetings, shoots, finance reminders, and client work.
This is just a way for us to structure our schedules on the weekly view.
Then there’s purple.
Purple is for activities outside of work.
And lately, there has been a lot of purple.
Simple questions
It didn’t start as a plan.
It started with simple questions.
“Hey, do you guys want to go to…?”
Suddenly, the calendar filled up with purple blocks.
Dance classes.
Badminton.
Movie nights.
Fitness classes.
Lunch outs.
Coffee runs.
At one point, I looked at the calendar and wondered how we even had the energy for all of this.
Meetings were still happening.
Shoots were still happening.
Deadlines were still there.
I worried for a bit. I worried a lot, actually.
Would this make us tired the next day?
Locked in
That didn’t happen apparently.
We’re doing more instead.
I hear more laughs in the office.
More jokes.
At the same time, I hear people saying they feel more locked in.
More fired up.
More “LESGAURRRRR!!”
I hear keyboards and mouse clicks.
More “I’m done with my task! What’s next?”
Instead of less energy, there’s more.
At this point, I don’t have an answer.
Trust moves faster
It reminded me of something from The Speed of Trust by Stephen M.R. Covey.
“When trust goes up, speed goes up and cost goes down.”
We didn’t plan this as a productivity strategy.
It was genuinely out of the need to connect beyond work.
Genuinely because we enjoyed each other’s company.
But trust grew anyway.
And when trust grows, things move faster.
There is less second guessing.
Less hesitation.
Less quiet friction.
Less walls, I guess.
Working for each other
I think what’s happening is simple.
We are not only colleagues.
We are people who care about each other.
When you care about the person next to you, you don’t want to let them down.
Closeness builds responsibility.
Responsibility builds better work.
We want to see everyone win at work, in life.
Because that celebration will be for everyone anyway.
Growing together
On a personal note, I am proud of the team.
We are growing professionally, at a rate I never imagined.
We are also growing in life.
We are spending time together in ways that matter.
Not just in ways that look productive.
And somehow, that makes the work even stronger.
Every output is something that makes us collectively proud.
Thank you for showing up better, team.

No Breaks, Just Smash
Syafi ‘Aizzuddeen hosted another badminton session at Smash Queens, Gadong during the National Day holiday, from 8–10pm. The session was a serious one — with drills, non-stop rallies, and barely any breaks in between. Raf Zaini had a small scare with a near-injury (thankfully she’s okay!), and we were also joined by Ezzan for the night. Tiring, intense, and fun as always.

Intense game!

BFI National Day Shoot

Last week, the media team had a National Day shoot with BFI at the beautiful and classic Ri’s Cafe, Riverside. It was an interview-style video where we brought together six people from different generations to share their ‘Back In My Days...’ stories. The session was filled with laughter, memories and heartwarming moments. One of our own media team members, Leemin Sofian, also joined as a talent - proudly representing Gen Z!
Long Weekend Logs
With a stretch of public holidays from Chinese New Year to the first days of Ramadhan and National Day — the team scattered in all directions. There were sungkai gatherings, family visits and moreh runs, alongside the usual badminton sessions and quiet editing days. Some fully embraced rest mode with gaming marathons and binge-watching Crash Landing on You, while others stayed busy with small plans and catch-ups.
All in all, it was a long weekend well spent, with a mix of good food, family time, random hobbies, and just enough productivity before returning to the office.

Side Quest: Make Art
It’s been a small mission for us to showcase our creative side beyond client projects. Leemin Sofian, Iman Shamsuddin, Stephanie Yong, and Haziyah Azalmey were given full creative freedom to produce artworks that felt meaningful to them — pieces that now help bring new life into the office. These works will soon be displayed in the Cozy Room, adding a more personal touch to the space.

It’s ready for the wall !

✨ Recommendations
Things we’re loving lately, because inspiration hides where you least expect them.
The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014)

A perfect family feel-good film with a touch of comedy and just a sprinkle of romance. This is one of Raf Zaini’s go-to cozy comfort movies — and don’t even get her started on the cinematography. The food scenes are so beautifully shot, she swears she can almost smell them. Beautifully written with an equally beautiful message, this one’s a solid 10/10.
Smash Queens Badminton Court, Gadong
A new spot on our radar — and currently with plenty of available slots. The space isn’t hot or stuffy, the toilets are clean, and with only two courts available, there’s a nice sense of privacy. It’s also quite secluded, with dedicated parking, which makes it super convenient.
The only con (for now): no drinks available yet. But considering they’ve recently upgraded their entrance with a password system, we’re guessing more improvements might be coming soon.
Either way, this badminton court is a smash and not a pass.
