This week, we're adding more pages to our Spellbook. Here's what we'll be talking about:
🔦 Highlights
🪄 Spells
One big idea we’ve learned each week, shaped into words you can carry forward.
Holding the line
Will this last?
Lately, things have been moving well.
I’ve shared this in our previous Spellbooks.
There is energy.
There is closeness.
There is trust.
And with all of that, there is also a quiet fear.
I don’t say it out loud often.
But it’s there.
The fear
I sometimes worry that all this momentum could collapse the moment someone takes advantage of it.
That freedom leads to carelessness.
That leniency becomes weakness.
That kindness gets mistaken for looseness.
It’s an unrealistic fear.
But it feels real.
Because once something is taken lightly,
rules still have to apply to everyone.
Even to those that have respected the bounds of the freedom.
And when rules tighten, people feel it.
The tension
Everyone wants freedom.
No one enjoys feeling policed.
No one wants to feel restricted.
But when freedom is stretched too far,
structure slowly returns.
It needs to return.
And structure can feel corporate.
I kind of don’t want that.
I don’t want the warmth to disappear.
I don’t want the culture to harden.
Yet I also know that standards matter.
Especially knowing that this directly affects morale.
Which, with time, affects output and productivity.
The weight of decisions
There are moments where leaders have to choose.
To protect fairness, consistency, and long-term health of the team.
Sometimes that means making decisions that not everyone agrees with.
Sometimes that means being misunderstood, and getting remarks.
Sometimes that means being okay with being disliked, and okay with silence.
Or even feeling alone for a while, like uninvited lunch outs.
That part is not talked about enough.
Sitting with it
I’m still figuring this part out.
I don’t want to become overly strict.
I don’t want rules to feel heavy.
But I also know that if something is taken too lightly,
it doesn’t just affect one person.
It affects everyone.
So maybe the balance isn’t about choosing freedom or structure.
Maybe it’s about being clear enough that people understand why something is being decided.
Or about being consistent, even when it’s uncomfortable.
And maybe part of leadership is accepting that not every decision will feel good in the moment, but will eventually lead to better things.
I’m learning that protecting momentum sometimes means having hard conversations early.
The truth
Growth brings warmth.
It also brings responsibility.
Both warmth and responsibility need space.
We can laugh.
We can trust.
We can respect.
And we can still hold standards.
Those two things can live in the same room.
Even if it feels tense sometimes.

Bad at it Again!
Another badminton session at Smash Queens — this time joined by Faiqah and Hisham. We split into all-boys and all-girls matches, and let’s just say… the energy was intense. The games were stricter, sweat levels were higher, and at one point Imamull had to pause the action thanks to a sudden butt cramp (we move). Competitive, chaotic, and cardio-heavy as always.

Nuzul Al-Quran Shoot for BFI
Last week, the media team completed the production for Nuzul Al-Quran. One of the highlights was an insightful visit to Pusat Bahagia, where the team met Cikgu Jamary bin Danggat, a teacher who teaches Braille Al-Quran. For Raf, the journey to find the Braille Al-Quran was quite a challenge, but with with the help of Pusat Da’wah Islamiah, she finally managed to get one.

Limin in action
The media team carried out four consecutive days of coverage for the UNN Charity Drive. Each day began at The Kitchen Table, where UNN staff prepared meals before heading out to different districts; Tutong, Temburong and Kuala Belait. On one of the days, we also brought along the Focal Juncture team members, Nazmi and Iqbal to cover the team when half of the media team needed to shoot at a different location.

From Talk Guests to Research Subjects
Imamull Qhaeer recently sat down with Abdul Hakim from UBD, who’s currently working on his final-year Entrepreneurship course, Startup, Growth, and Sustainability. As part of his year-long project where he’s required to interview entrepreneurs.
After recalling that Imamull, Haziyah and Batrisyia had previously given a talk to the batch of IEED students he was apart of, he decided to choose AICREATIVV. His questions ranged from how we first kickstarted the agency, to evaluating the market, and the kind of mindset needed to sustain a creative business.
Always a full-circle moment to return to campus — this time on the other side of the table.

Humble Bites Pop-Up Debut!
Our former intern, Muna Atikah made her first ever pop-up debut as Humble Bites, a small business she and her siblings started at the Ajung Moreh & Sahur event at The One. We got to try her signature Marie-Me Pudding and Banana Cake, both as sweet as she is!

Mom and dad are proud of you, Muna!

So many choices!

✨ Recommendations
Things we’re loving lately, because inspiration hides where you least expect them.
Blackmores Supplements
Syafi ‘Aizzuddeen recently started taking these out of pure health awareness. Because apparently, we’re not getting any younger. With goals to improve bone health, strength, and overall blood flow, the supplements have quickly become part of his routine. The biggest difference? Better energy and improved sleep, waking up feeling like a princess in a movie.

CeraVe Daily Moisturising Lotion
A simple, no-fuss moisturiser that just works. It’s lightweight, non-greasy, and keeps the skin hydrated all day while helping to support the skin barrier. Gentle enough for daily use and easy to layer — reliable, practical, and drama-free.
