🔦 Highlights

🪄 Spells

One big idea we’ve learned each week, shaped into words you can carry forward.

The hardest thing to remove from growth

When does growth start showing?

As people grow in their roles, something subtle begins to appear.

Confidence.

Confidence is good. It means people care about their work. It means people are starting to understand their craft.

Ideas become stronger. Opinions become clearer.

But sometimes, confidence quietly grows into something else.

Something much harder to notice.

Ego.

Ego is not loud

Ego rarely shows up as arrogance.

Most of the time it appears in small ways.

Defending an idea a little too quickly.
Holding onto a direction even when the brief has shifted.
Wanting to prove skill instead of solving the problem.

It happens to all of us.

When we spend hours thinking about an idea, it becomes personal.

Letting go of it feels uncomfortable.

But the work we do at AICREATIVV was never meant to be personal victories.

It was always meant to be shared outcomes.

The AICREATIVV Way

One of the ways we try to think about work here is simple.

The best idea wins.

Not the loudest idea.
Not the idea from the most senior person.
Not the idea we spent the longest time on.

Just the best one.

That mindset requires something very specific.

Humility.

Humility allows someone to say:

“This idea might not be the strongest one yet.”

Or even better:

“Your idea might make this better.”

When that happens, creativity becomes collaborative instead of competitive.

And that’s when ideas start improving much faster.

Growth becomes easier

One thing we’ve learned over time is:

Growth becomes easier when ego becomes smaller.

Learning speeds up.
Feedback becomes useful instead of uncomfortable.
Conversations become about the work, not about defending the work.

It creates a room where people are trying to improve the outcome together.

Not trying to prove themselves individually.

And that is a much healthier place to grow.

What I’m learning

Personally, I’m learning that humility is not a personality trait.

It’s a discipline.

It’s the discipline to pause before defending an idea.
The discipline to listen fully to feedback.
The discipline to stay curious instead of certain.
The discipline to admit that you do not know, without trying to act like you do.
Perhaps also the discipline to self reflect.

Growth requires skill.

But sustained growth requires humility.

A quiet reminder

We remind ourselves of this often.

The work we create is not who we are.

It is simply something we are building together.

The moment we hold it too tightly, we stop improving it.

The moment we release it, the team makes it stronger.

And that is the kind of growth we want to keep building.

Final Nights, Full Table

During the final nights of Ramadan, we gathered the team for an iftar at Spice Boys, Kota Batu — enjoying a spread of Indian and Western dishes with a view of the Brunei River. Leaning into the restaurant’s fine dining atmosphere, everyone came dressed for the occasion, making it a night that felt a little more special than usual.

Raya Ready!

“Guys, I wanna decorate the office for Raya…”

What started as a simple thought from Ampuan Hafiz quickly turned into an afternoon trip to Rimba Point. With a budget of $100 each, we split into two teams — groceries and decorations. The grocery team focused on restocking hygiene essentials and filling the pantry with Raya treats, while the ever-chaotic decoration team took on the mission of finding the most chic festive pieces for the office.

ATE Mubarak!

For our first day back in the office, we kept the Syawal spirit going by dressing in our best, in line with the sunnah. After lunch, we lined up from youngest to oldest to receive our duit raya — with a few lucky ones scoring bonus-filled envelopes. It was a wholesome way to ease back into work, share the festive joy, and take a moment to seek forgiveness from one another.

To our readers, Selamat Hari Raya! (Or… E Mubz as Haziyah says)

Raya Diaries

The team spent their Hari Raya in all sorts of ways — from visiting family and hosting guests to quick getaways and quiet days at home. Some were fully booked with house-to-house visits (and outfit changes to match), while others kept things lowkey, helping out at home or taking it slow when family members fell sick. There were also mini wins and milestones, from first Raya celebrations with loved ones to finally answering the classic “bila kawin?” question.

In between all that, there was still time for the little things — gaming marathons, cousin hangouts, and the ongoing debate about whether adults deserve more duit raya.

Potato Habit Raya

Despite working in a small (but mighty) crew led by Raf and Judin, with support from Aiman, Limin on set design as well as additional help from the rest of the team, we came together to work on Potato Habit’s latest rollout. This time, the focus was on promoting their new service: a catering booth available for hire at events like open houses.

With a collaborative spirit on set, both the AICREATIVV team and Imamull’s family stepped in as talents, bringing the concept to life in a way that felt natural, lively, and very on-brand.

Recommendations

Things we’re loving lately, because inspiration hides where you least expect them.

Songket Dunia

A true game changer for Raya, according to Imamull Qhaeer.

No more struggling to redo your sinjang, especially after a bathroom break — this velcro version takes less than 10 seconds to fix. Unlike others, it can still be folded to your desired length (even knee height) without looking crumpled. It sits nicely whether you wear your baju melayu tucked in or out, and best of all, no bulky bump. Clean, easy, and practical.

Suria Egg Tart

You’d be lying if you said you’ve never had Suria Egg Tart — a staple at open houses and gatherings, known for their wide variety of sweet and savoury bite-sized treats. Raf Zaini recommends the chicken quiche (her words: it’s fire, so just trust), while for those with a sweet tooth, Haziyah swears by the Nutella tarts.
