📌 Breaking Free: Shatter Your Limiting Beliefs
Roadblocks
Are you aware of your limiting beliefs? These mental roadblocks, which can center around money, relationships, family, self-worth, appearance, or skills, can prevent you from reaching your full potential. Often lurking in the background, they create an invisible glass ceiling that stifles your success. The first step to overcoming them is acknowledging their existence.
By transforming limiting beliefs into uplifting ones, you unlock the door to a world of possibilities. Here's how you can shatter those mental barriers:
Embrace vulnerability: Accept that you have limiting beliefs and recognize them as obstacles to your goals. Be open to the idea that growth lies beyond these self-imposed boundaries.
For example, if you believe you're not a "natural" public speaker, recognize that with practice and preparation, you can become an engaging and effective communicator. Instead of settling with that belief, shift it into questions of “how can I become a better speaker?”
The answers you come up with will be your first few steps towards becoming a better one.
Seek trusted input: Invite people you trust to challenge your limiting beliefs, helping you break them down. To do this effectively, be receptive to constructive criticism and willing to consider external perspectives.
This will not work if you invite them and dismiss them entirely, you must first be ready to accept, seek guidance, not fish for compliments.
If you've always thought you're "terrible with money," ask a financially savvy friend to review your spending habits and offer suggestions for improvement.
Redefine your truths: Understand that your reactions to your limiting beliefs shape your reality. By shifting your mindset and redefining what's true for you, you can forge a new path towards success.
For instance, if you've convinced yourself you're "not a creative person," try exploring different artistic outlets and discover your unique talents. However, do not fuel your ego, approach this with humility and with the desire to improve. Pat your back with every small win, and never settle for “I already know this”.
It's time to break free from the constraints of limiting beliefs and embrace the boundless potential within you. Begin by acknowledging, challenging, and redefining your beliefs, and watch as new opportunities unfold before you.
“Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.”
📌 Perfectionism Paralysis
The Trap of Inspiration
Are you trapped in a never-ending quest for inspiration, unable to start or finish your creative projects? You're not alone! Perfectionism can be a significant barrier to unleashing your full creative potential. The endless hunt for ideas can leave you lost in a labyrinth of inspiration, preventing you from making progress.
It's time to break free from this trap and shift your focus from consuming to creating. Overcoming perfectionism involves embracing imperfection and setting limits on your inspiration search. Here's how to escape the perfectionism paralysis:
Timebox your inspiration: Set a time limit for gathering ideas. This prevents you from getting sucked into an infinite loop of inspiration and helps you stay focused on your goals.
Example: Allocate 30 minutes to browse for inspiration, then move on to your project or content.
Limit your drafts: Rather than creating countless variations of your idea, commit to producing just three rough drafts. This simplifies your process and keeps you from getting overwhelmed.
Example: Rather than perfecting every sentence in your blog, newsletter or content - write the whole thing first, then make three variations with limited parameters. Try fixing the tone - professional, casual or inspirational. Pick the best one.
Refine and develop: Choose one draft and develop it further, like a sculptor chiseling away at their masterpiece. This approach narrows your focus and prevents decision paralysis.
Example: Select your favourite piece then continue to refine it, rather than constantly exploring new techniques. If you’re 80% happy with it, just post it. You’ll improve piece by piece.
By embracing imperfection and setting boundaries on your creative process, you can overcome perfectionism paralysis and unleash your true creative potential. Remember, progress is better than perfection.
The Current Instagram Algorithm
Instagram favours three things
Interest
Relationship
Recency
Let’s talk about Relationships. When it comes to social media, remember that "social" is the key. Just posting content and expecting engagement is like hoping your high school crush would approach you while you're only talking about yourself. Make an effort to interact and build relationships—it's a two-way street.
Here’s how: Instagram shows your account to people who you have more interaction with -content shows up on their stories, home page, or explore page. That is determined by, but not limited to:
Commenting & DM-ing
Community engagement
Polls, stickers, scales, and all the other interactive stickers on Stories.
To show up better, you can:
Increase interaction with your followers
Have more touch points in stories
Commenting on other accounts and replying to any accounts who have interacted with you
Practice dropping a CTA that encourage conversations
