This week, we're adding more pages to our Spellbook. Here's what we'll be talking about:

🔦 Highlights

🪄 Spells

One big idea we’ve learned each week, shaped into words you can carry forward.

525 days

Sometimes I find myself going through the old, random entries, and I find funny moments that happened. I can't believe we started this when we were in our first office, and that it was handled by someone else completely.

525 days is 75 weeks of Spellbook. That's hard to sink in. We marked 420 days back in Spellbook 60, and 105 days later we are here.

A public diary

This became a habit, almost like a public diary for the Spellbook team. What happens over the week becomes a public story.

Writing in the beginning felt like a chore. Eventually it became something we look forward to writing. We remember every moment more.

Photos from everywhere

As a team, we're not always at the office. The creative team could be out for progress updates with clients, the media team may have two different shoots in a day, and the business team could be on online calls or on-site meetings. We generally gather during lunch or after work to wind down and talk about our days.

The wonderful thing is that in the group, photos get sent from everywhere we are, with some short bullet point context.

It lives in Spellbook

Yes, the Spellbook is a value-packed newsletter on the first half. The second half is a view into our world, day to day.

What's funny is that if we were to scroll through the WhatsApp media, we wouldn't even find these photos at all. They live in Spellbook, and that's a wonderful place for them to be. Everyone subscribed can see.

Within each issue are candid moments, memorable ones, and even dumb ones. Maybe hidden between them are achievements we used to rave about, or even peak moments of portfolio releases.

Thank you for the 1000+ subscribers. We hope you enjoyed watching us grow as much as we did growing in person.

To more Spellbook entries! The next few series will be some interesting ones.

Questions worth thinking about

  • What from your last week would you want to find again in a year?

  • Which part of your week would you only notice if you wrote it down?

A Beautiful Beginning for Two!

Last Friday, the AICREATIVV team got to celebrate a very special milestone as two of our own, Raf Zaini and Syafi ‘Aizzuddeen, officially tied the knot! Held at Kiulap Plaza Hotel, the afternoon was filled with love, laughter and plenty of happy moments. Of course, the team came dressed in their best black outfits, as requested by the bride herself.

We’re so grateful to have been part of their big day and to witness the beginning of this new chapter together. Congratulations, Raf and Judin! May Allah bless your marriage with endless love, happiness and barakah. Here's to a lifetime of growing together!

Another Year, Another Identity!

It’s practically an AICREATIVV tradition to show up to work in costumes once a year, and of course, we weren’t about to break the streak! A couple of team members either missed the memo or simply decided to sit this one out (which, fair enough, we respect the commitment to staying in character as themselves).

Still, we had a blast stepping into different identities for the day, admiring everyone’s creativity and trying to guess who was dressed up as what. Another year, another round of questionable disguises and office memories!

Selene’s Last Day

Monday marked the last day of Selene Bautista’s six-month internship with our media team! Under the guidance of Aaqilull Qhaeer, Selene took on a variety of tasks and experiences, some she probably never imagined herself doing when she first joined us. Beyond the work, she’s also been a valuable part of the team, bringing her own contributions to our everyday studio life.

Thank you, Selene, for spending the past six months with us! We hope your internship has been a fruitful one, filled with new skills, unexpected experiences and plenty of memories both inside and outside the office. Wishing you all the best in your next adventure! You’ll always have a place in the AICREATIVV family.

Two Years with Hafiz!

Two years ago, Ampuan Hafiz joined AICREATIVV as our Agency Accounts Manager, and look how far he’s come! From needing a little hand-holding and training wheels to now independently keeping our finances in check, managing expenses, payments, reports and making sure everyone gets paid on time. He may be working behind the scenes, but he’s certainly one of the people keeping this agency running. Thank you, Hafiz, for growing alongside us and being our very own angel of our dream (because seriously, who else is going to hold down the numbers?).

Happy 2nd work anniversary! Here’s to more milestones and hopefully fewer financial headaches! 🤍

Happy work anniversary, Hafiz!

Politeknik Brunei Showcase

From the classroom to the showcase floor! Imamull Qhaeer was invited to Politeknik Brunei’s Showcase opening, where students got to put their Final Year Projects on display. Among the exhibitors was a familiar face, our former intern Muna Atikah, whose group, Serumpun, created a children’s activity book inspired by Brunei’s seven ethnic groups. Hafiz, Haziyah, DB and Liza, (who was part of the same internship batch as Muna) also made a trip down on the final day to cheer them on and have a look at what the other students had been working on. Always nice to see familiar faces doing big things outside the office!

To Serumpun and all the students, congratulations on making it to the finish line. We’re excited to see where you take these ideas next!

The Unscripted Side of Entrepreneurship

Not every entrepreneurial journey is as straightforward as it looks from the outside. Recently, our Co-Founder, Imamull Qhaeer, was invited to Politeknik Brunei for a rather different kind of sharing session with over 50 final year students. It all started when our former intern, Muna Atikah, connected Imamull with her lecturer, Miss Syahadah. After a conversation and an office tour at AICREATIVV, they decided to organise an informal interview style session about what it really takes to build a business. And when we say informal, we really mean it. From Imamull's very first online client meeting after COVID, wearing a Marvel jacket with uncombed hair, to the difficult conversations, burnout and mindset shifts that shaped AICREATIVV, the session explored stories we don't usually share publicly. One of those stories was a conversation between Imamull and Amal Osmera in the car, questioning whether they were spending more time as business partners or as husband and wife. That conversation eventually led to AICREATIVV's first two hires. It was also a lovely reunion with our former interns Hafizuddin Junaidi, Putra Nazirul, Khadijah Asnawi, Zaid Al-Rumman, Darazwaliza Jayan and of course, Muna Atikah, who made time to attend despite being from different years and classes. Ampuan Hafiz and Amal also came along to support the session. Before wrapping up, we had the chance to hear from two student groups about their Final Year Projects, including a children's book preserving Bruneian history through art and handmade trinkets inspired by the 7 ethnic tribes of Brunei and the flowers featured on our currency. We're grateful to Miss Syahadah and Politeknik Brunei for creating a space where these conversations could happen. If there's one thing we hope the students took away, it's that building a business isn't about having everything figured out from the beginning. It's about learning, adapting and finding the courage to keep going, even when things get difficult. Here's to the next generation of Bruneian entrepreneurs. We can't wait to see what you'll build.

✨ Recommendations

Things we’re loving lately, because inspiration hides where you least expect them.

Grand Sandwich

For National Sandwich Day (3 November), we’re giving a shoutout to one of our team favourites: Grand Sandwich at Madang Junction! Their sourdough toasties are a must-try, especially the Pulled Beef Brisket, GB Grilled Cheese and Marinara Chicken. If you’re looking for your next lunch spot, you know where to go!

Beeboutique Couture

A little wedding appreciation post is in order! Newlywed Raf Zaini recommends Beeboutique Couture, the team behind her and Judin’s wedding attire. Beyond the beautiful tailoring and affordable packages for both bride and groom, what made the experience special was the extra care they put into their brides. From teaching Raf how to sit gracefully in her gown to showing the bride assistant how to handle and arrange her veil so the dress stays beautifully presented, they made sure she felt confident every step of the way. If you're getting ready for your own big day, Beeboutique Couture might just be worth adding to your list! After all, who better to take a wedding attire recommendation from than someone who just walked down the aisle?
